not since you left

Sweet nothings in the sun, all said and done, but if my world was a beach, then not since you left have the waves come. Your silhouette I still see in the distance, now your name is a passing mention, but its spelt out on post it stamps, drew your face on the palms of my hands, pillow talk in the evenings, all said and done, but my world is a beach, and not since you left, have the waves come. All the streets we walked hand in hand, pulling you close whenever I can, they’re not the same streets anymore, they don’t shine the way they did before, you made a man of a boy so weak, give me all the love I need, hopes and fears, all said and done, but not since you left have the waves come. All these things that I’ve been told, of time, of space and a love to hold, they’re stories, all tall tales, now they hold no truth no meaning, not since you left have the waves come back, and now I take small steps, and sometimes I hold my breath, to catch you from the corner of my eye, but you’ve long since been gone, and though you would not say why, I know your pain, only too well, promises and regrets all said and done, but not since you’ve been gone, have the waves come. Come back.

"Was a long and dark December, when the banks became cathedrals"

White Collars and Pinstripe Suits

From atop castles of glass
Recall the glories of past
The corner space, the room with the view
No faxes, no phones calls, just faith to renew
Such honour among thieves
stole the air that they breathe
broken families with broken homes
no shelter no warmth, no place left to go
white collars, pinstripe suits
they hold no secrets for me or for you
they bought and sold the dreams of our young
depression and anxiety, all wrapped up in one
times will remember, such power abused
no silver lining but a golden parachute
doctors and gods will give up the ghost
no prophets, no hope, no messiah awoke

Such holidays in the sun dont come without sacrifices"

Some people spend their whole lives trying to achieve something, either for themselves or on someone elses behalf, or both. A cycle gets created where each achievement must be surpassed by an even greater achievement. These achievements and their greatness is relative, and differs from person to person. But is achievement in modern day society, and the cycle it involves, sustainable? Economics states that achievement of ones goals is inadequate as it does not include the rest of society as a whole, but paradoxically, if society as a whole is not being benefited by your achievements, then can these 'achievements' really be achievements? How can you achieve something for yourself if you have to also include society in your achievement. Taking into account that in society there are others that also want to achieve something, and of course the chances are, that ones achievement is anothers failure. In which case is it possible to achieve anything at all, in real terms, if everything you achieve is followed someone elses failure, and if someone elses failure is also borne by society, how can we hope to justify achievement without admitting to its roots in the selfishness that comes with the human psyche.

myHappyplace

Palmtrees sway,
Without purpose or pride
Sparkling waves,
Will shimmer and shine
Starry-eyed friends,
With moonlit smiles

A world away from all we know,
To a home away from home we’ll go
Set our sails, so out of sight
To lazy mornings and dizzy heights

Soft white and turquoise blue
A space that’s just for me and you

picture book of wasted time

When options dry and choices fail, you try and try, all in vain, day by day the seasons change, a world apart from all the rage, failure spreads, becomes a place, so deep so dark, where glories fade, burn your clothes and wipe your tears, sober and sane, it comes again, on a restless night you toss and turn, until you learn, that every road shall meet its end and all the lies wont make amends for all the bonds that we might break, in love and lust we cannot fake, smiling friends with open arms, whats yours is mine, a sheltered past, a picture book of wasted time.

TheGRandprize

To sight a view
No dream could dream
To start anew
In a brand new scene

Its been so long, since I last touched
Something I've wanted so much

The lonely child

To touch but to never taste
To see but to never feel
To hold but to never own
To live but to never belong

My favorite song you’ll never hear
Twinkles in my eye, about to disappear
With my secret space right by the sea
Where I held so close those dear to me
You’ll find just what you’re looking for
And on that day you’ll look no more
The days and months will pass me by
As I make my way, a lonely child
I’ll hold for you a sacred truth
I lost myself when I lost you

Without you I'm nothing.

Human beings are doomed to depend on other human beings; this dependence will only lead to disappointment. No human being can be considered 100% dependable, 100% of the time, such an idea is foolhardy at best. In essence every man, woman and child has an innate addiction to the undivided attention of another, there is a need to share our hopes and our fears, our victories and our defeats, our agonies and our ecstasies. Accomplishments are incomplete, without complete acceptance from our colleagues, friends or family. This dependence manifests itself in the very thread that binds two people together, the thing called love; interdependence creates the fabric from which love is cut, torn and bound together to create what we hope will be an endless flow of understanding and compassion.

“I’m unclean, a libertine,
and every time you vent your spleen
I seem to lose the power of speech,
You’re slipping slowly from my reach,
You grow me like an evergreen,
You’ve never seen the lonely me at all

…Without you I’m nothing.”
